The concept behind The Laid-Back Bride (TLBB) is that bridal could be more diverse, more authentic and way cooler. Founder Aleena Long began working in the bridal industry as a stylist. She fell in love with the fabrics, styles, atmosphere, the people and the experience itself. Having always had a creative flair and a desire to run her own business Aleena decided to try her hand at design and go out on her own.
Her mission? to create bridal wear that is unlike what you see everywhere else. To provide a bridal shopping experience that is inclusive with more of a relaxed vibe, in place of today's exclusionary and formal feel. The Laid-Back Bride was never going to be just another retailer stocking a standard list of big name designers. Aleena, along with some help from her design team created an in-house label that would appeal to brides wanting something a little different for their big day.
A one stop shop was the vision. A bridal boutique where you could not only purchase your dream dress but accessories, jewellery and shoes to complete your bridal look. It was important that the accessories were as authentic as the dresses themselves. Aleena carefully sourced an array of quality handcrafted pieces that compliment the designs and her brides.
She set out to create a place where the dresses are crafted, not produced. The decor and mood is light-hearted, comfortable and stress-free. Where the service is welcoming, fun and friendly, not judgy (yea that's right judgy not judgmental ha-ha). Her aim to set a new standard for what bridal shopping could and should be.
"I would have to say the best part of my job is sharing and experiencing the excitement and joy when a bride-to-be finds her perfect dress. It is one of the most rewarding feelings and is why I love what I do. I take great pride in providing positive and happy experiences for each and every bride that chooses to shop with us" - Aleena Long
