My love for bridal began during my time as a stylist at a small bridal boutique in Brisbane. After a few months, I was promoted to the position of 2IC, and it was about then that I truly fell for the bridal world--the dresses, the atmosphere, the people, and the overall experience. I shared in the excitement and challenges as brides searched for their perfect outfits.
However, as I immersed myself in the industry, I began to notice a lot of what was out there looked similar from one store to the next, with small differences. The lack of diversity made it challenging for some brides to find an outfit they could feel themselves in. Reflecting on my own dress-shopping experience, I could empathise with their struggle. I remember feeling out of place, underdressed, and underwhelmed by the limited choices. In the end, I settled for a dress that was okay—not exactly my style—but I was so ready to be done with the whole process, and it seemed like the best option among everything I tried on.
Drawing from my own experiences and those of the brides-to-be I met, I was inspired to create The Laid Back Bride in late 2019. After 14 months of hard work, I officially launched the brand in February 2021. My aim is to become a trusted partner in the bridal industry by focusing on serving rather than just selling. I strive to build a brand that connects with the down-to-earth, offers an alternative to the typical and provides a space where people can shop and feel at home. When you choose the Laid Back Bride, you can rest assure that you are in capable hands.
"I would have to say the best part of my job is sharing and experiencing the excitement and joy when a bride-to-be finds her perfect design. It is one of the most rewarding feelings and is why I love what I do. I take great pride in providing positive and happy experiences for each and every bride that chooses to shop with us" - Aleena
