My love for bridal started in a pretty unexpected way.

A friend told me about a job at the bridal store where she worked and suggested I come in for a chat. I remember thinking, me? In sales? No chance. But I quickly realised it was so much more than just selling — it was about people. Listening, guiding, connecting. That part came naturally, and before long I was promoted to 2IC and completely fell for the world of bridal.

But I also saw the same story on repeat — brides looking for something different, yet leaving disappointed because everything felt the same. I could relate. When I was searching for my own dress, I felt underwhelmed and out of place. I chose something that was… nice. Not really me — but it felt like the best option at the time. Honestly, I just wanted it to be over.

That experience stayed with me, which is why I created The Laid Back Bride — a bridal studio in Redcliffe, just north of Brisbane — with one goal: to do things differently.

A space that feels like shopping with a friend, where you can be yourself, explore your style, and feel supported while doing it. No pressure. No pushy sales tactics. Just good vibes and honest advice.
