Garment Steaming Terms

By booking a steaming service with The Laid Back Bride, you agree to the following terms.

Condition on drop-off
All garments are inspected at drop-off. We'll flag any pre-existing damage, staining, discolouration, loose embellishments, or fragile fabric before work begins. We recommend pointing out any areas of concern at this time.

Nature of the service
Steaming relaxes fabric and reduces creasing — it is not a cleaning, stain removal, or odour removal service. We cannot guarantee removal of stains, marks, or odours, and steaming may not be suitable for all fabric types or embellishments.

Garment suitability
We use professional steam equipment, which relaxes fabric and removes creases through steam rather than direct pressing. This makes it ideal for most dress and eveningwear fabrics, including delicate, beaded, and layered garments. It is not suitable for garments requiring a flat, pressed finish (e.g. tailored trousers or structured pleats), leather or suede fabrics or trims, heavily starched or boned structures, or fabrics/embellishments that are not heat- or steam-safe. We'll assess your garment at drop-off and let you know if we don't believe it's a good candidate for steaming before proceeding.

Liability
While we take the utmost care with every garment, some fabrics, trims, beading, dyes, or aged/vintage materials are inherently fragile and may be damaged by heat or steam despite best efforts. We are not liable for damage arising from pre-existing fabric weakness, colourfastness issues, or embellishments not disclosed at drop-off. Our liability, where it does arise, is limited to the cost of the service provided.

Uncollected garments
Garments not collected within 7 days of notification may incur a $15 storage fee. Garments not collected within 30 days of notification may be considered abandoned.

Right to refuse
We reserve the right to decline to steam a garment we assess as too high-risk for damage.
